More than 20 cm of snow can fall in the county during the day.
Due to sleet, first-level warnings are in force in Budapest, Pest, Bács-Kiskun, Fejér, Heves, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Komárom-Esztergom, Nógrád, Somogy, Veszprém and Zala counties.
Due to the snowfall, a second-degree warning was issued for Győr-Moson-Sopron and Vas counties, because more than 20 centimeters of snow can fall in these counties during the day. In addition, there is also a first degree warning due to snowfall in Fejér, Komárom-Esztergom, Veszprém and Zala counties.
In Transdanubia, the precipitation – initially mixed in several places – turned into snow in an increasing area by Thursday evening. In Northwestern Transdanubia and in the Transdanubia Mountains, snow layers of about 5 to 15 centimeters can form, usually near the western border. In the north-eastern part of Transdanubia, in the area of the capital, in the Northern Central Mountains, a maximum of 5 centimeters of snow can fall. It weakens in the evening and then disappears.
In the evening and at night, the north-west wind can carry snow in some places in Northern Transdanubia, in the Transdanubian Central Mountains. On Friday night, a dense fog may form in some places in Transdanubia. Visual conditions gradually improve during the day.
Dániel Mukics, a spokesman for the National Directorate General for Disaster Management, previously stressed in a statement to MTI that before setting off, drivers should be aware of the current meteorological situation and road conditions.
